The Football Stadium at 40 Katolu Street is covered with a new synthetic lawn of the latest generation, which is in fact equivalent to the natural lawn, visually and according to technical parameters.
The football field is equipped with artificial lighting system, ensuring good visibility during workouts and games, and seats for 500 spectators. Wardrobes for sportsmen are at the 2nd basic school of Ventspils next to the football field. The football field is suitable for daily workouts and wide-scale competitions, e.g. Latvian Championship Top League and the 1st League games.
Free workout time for residents of Ventspils:
- Monday — Friday || 6.30 — 8.30 p.m.
- Saturday — Sunday || 5.00 — 7.00 p.m.
Free workout time may be changed, depending on competitions. Information on changes will be available at the Cash Desk of the Football Stadium.
In 2014 the football field was extended by one meter in length and by one meter in width in order to meet the international standards. It was supplemented with a warm-up field and spacious safety zones. The expanded field was covered with a synthetic lawn of the latest generation. Reconstruction of the football field was supported by Latvian Football Federation, which provided and installed the new lawn. The football field lawn, including safety and warm-up areas, is 101,5m x 65,5 m, as required by UEFA I and II category stadium requirements.
